Default Online Sports Betting In New York Launches In Less Than 24 Hours

The New York online sports betting market is going to be massive, likely the biggest US market (currently) and potentially one of the biggest in the world.

In an interesting twist for potential affiliates, New York does NOT require affiliates to be licensed. All you need to do to work in the NY market is have an affiliate agreement with an operator willing to submit your name to regulators, that's it - clean, easy, and simple.

We did a quick write up on the details: (feel free to like, share, or link)

Anyone else excited about this market?

It's going to be interesting to watch the impact on New Jersey revenue the next few months. New York has a tax rate 35% higher than New Jersey does, which means sportsbook marketing teams will likely to try to entice bettors in NYC to keep crossing the river into NJ - but most recreational bettors are likely to choose the convenience of staying within NY state lines.

I'm ready for all of the Northeast US to regulate everything so that it can start to creep down south.

According to a Tweet by Ryan Butler of Wagers.com, Google will allow licensed and certified online sportsbooks to run ads in New York beginning Jan. 8, the first day they can accept bets, the company announced in a post. Advertisers can begin applying for Google certification today.

It's probably obvious to most, but just in case anyone reads this...doesn't really know the level of cash that's involved and the names that have an eye on it......and thinks they can start from scratch in this market and make a dent...here's only a small fraction of what you're up against............

    xxxxxhttps://www.yahoo.com/now/american-affiliate-approved-entry-york-120000597.html

At least one of the domains mentioned here is a multi-million dollar domain even if it had zero content.

Anyone that does manage to do it from a standing or half-standing start....come back in a year and let us know how you managed it for fun!

Oh, and I have a great (I think) 'brandable' domain for anyone that wants to try - a US wide domain, not NY specific.

You aren't wrong, it's going to be very difficult to go up against these giant companies, we struggle with it and had a massive head start with BettingUSA.com.

Take a company like GDC/Gambling Group and not only do they have Gambling.com and Bookies.com - but they also have not just one but TWO New York sites fully staffed. Add to that competing with Bettor Collective, Catena, XLMedia, etc - and you are certainly fighting an uphill battle.

My advice to anyone wanting to jump in the US market is find a niche, and go hard - I personally am confident I would be generating more revenue if I went down that route. There is still quite a bit of opportunity there, for now, but even then is going to be difficult and require sizable resources.
