Default Organization - What a mess!

Hey perhaps the spelling was messed up on that.....

Well anyway. Trying to just keep my mind off the recent things going on.

I realize my problem is being organized and crap. I mean today I was asking myself "How do you create an anchor?" Thats sad.....

So anyone out there know someting that can help me out. My brain has so much I need to put somewhere to recall when I need it. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Well I am very unorganized and that really is my big problem and there seems to be noone who can help with this because its someting that I should have already. Hell I have ADD so it makes it all even more harder I will admit.

Other than that, I hope everyones doing good and keeping a positive outlook

    Diceman,

What works for me is using Notepad extensively. I have a main file for "Sites Info' on my desktop with sub folders sorting things out a bit (SE, GPWA, New Games Released (including graphics), Stats, Future Pages, etc.) - and then when I have stuff I need to keep track of I pull up Notepad, copy, paste and save - making sure it's in a folder in my desktop file where I would logically look to find it again.

In fact, I have Notepad notes all through my hard drive and couldn't function without them.

The secret is in the filing - if you're not sure you will be able to locate it next time, make another copy and stick it in another logical place.

To set up your main info file on the desktop, go into any file in My Computer, create a new folder and name it whatever you want and then drag and drop it onto your desktop. Once you have the first main file, you can use the file menu to create your sub folders - watch where you're putting everything and take care with the names when you save them and you should be able to keep track of everything you want to save for reference.

One of my sub files is little snippets of code that I need constantly - such as anchor links, how to do a line separator, the coding for vertical spaces, etc. It sure saves having to futz around trying to remember where you used them last to get a copy for a page you're writing. I also keep my casinos links list for progressives tickers and make sure it's updated at all times - then just copy and paste. My sites are a bit of a mish-mash of html, dhtml, javascript and so on - not very sophisticated.

I use Works databases to keep track of banners locations (dated), textlinks, download links, and casino updates.

Hope this is what you're referring to when you say you need to get organized.

pm me if I'm on the right track and you need more detailed info.

    Hi Nina,

I use something similar on my desktop, using notepad mostly. I also have an extensive collection of links in there as well. Often, I'll come across a site I don't need right away, but may need later. I bookmark it, then clear them from my browser periodically to the folder.

Even if I dont remember the name of the site, I can browse around and find it again.

You might want to look into Microsoft Project or some other project or workflow type of software.

Then as you get "ideas" you can assign them as a project and keep notes on each specific project. It may help you set goals for them and get closer to reaching the goals on some of them.
