Were going to cut out most of the flash and work on loading times and various things. Just want an idea of how things appear to regular web surfers with the speed. We have it now on a UK server and its not there yet so wanna test now and after

Good to know - I was worried it loaded to slow with the flash.
I use firefox and always have issues with flash.

Loads a bit slow from Sweden, I'm on 24mbit adsl but the flash you got going on there loads about 4-5 secs

Thanks hakank yeah for me to it loads in 4-5 seconds. I think its touch and go for web users - some will be quick but i think for most it will be slower like this, which leads me to look into better ways then flash. Not a fan of flash at all really. Thanks man!! Going to figure this out.. soon.

Yeah, it depends on the traffic you target, will they accept a loading page?
I believe that you could have the same effects with the dropdowns by using simpler methods..
WP have the same thing, but converted to php/html I'm clueless as of now.. But it IS doable...

Took me 4 seconds to load in firefox and 6 seconds IE9.

Liking it GFPC - took about 3-4 seconds from just outside London with our office connection.
Certainly quicker than most sites I visit!

Thanks Dave. I know for me it depends what browser i am using. Were going to run some tests over the next few days and maybe remove/edit some modules, gzip it, and various things. Hoping to get it cut down 1/2. I know when sites take longer then a few seconds traffic just clicks the back button and bounce rates become high. Certainly do not want that
. Long way to go but I think well get there. Thanks mate.
