I am Happy as a Pig in Sh-t =D

Today I broke my traffic record! 1,151 hits - 549 confirmed from search engines - ....602 clicks !!! It is only about 100 hits off my average good days but still, since there have been rolling updates... I am pleased with the way things are being handled by the big G, but I do find the recent uprising of the Play Store on the SERPS disturbing. I fear that the word "mobile" will be targeting next, as they now own the word "app" on a lot of fronts.

for the blackjack app search I reckon the SERPS look pretty decent and what I'd probably expect to see, maybe the itunes and google top 2 spots the other way round..........

.........obviously the users have found it good as the google one has 15000 G+ and 389,000 reviews

instead of thinking like a competitor think of being a user with no other interest than downloading a free blackjack app, I'd be pretty happy with the results on that page with the 2 sites I'd trust straight away holding the top 2 spots

I've seen a big jump in my positions since this update and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It's inspired me to make a better site in terms of usability and content to try and hold onto that spot. Although, I don't think anyone can rest easily anymore as the next update could come along and wipe you out again.

I also completely agree with thebookiesoffers - the results for 'blackjack app' look about right to me. If I was a user searching for that term then I would find those top results the most useful i.e least amount of clicks to get what i'm looking for which is a blackjack app. So there are probably more clickthroughs and a very low bounce rate on those sites. It's got nothing to do with G maximising their profits. If you believe that then I'm sure you're probably in the same boat as the people that say having adsense on your site increases your rank.

Agreed - I don't see anything wrong with those results. Yes if the top 10 were all pages from the google play store than that would be dodgy, but just them having the number one spot doesn't look suspicious to me.

Bing (UK) also have facebook, itunes and google play as the top 3 for 'blackjack app'.

In the US the search [blackjack app] returns play.google in the top 4 spots then there is itunes in the last few positions, with two other google sites in the last 2 positions. Then take a look at page two...

I don't know why some people still think google searches for europe and the US are the same, they are not.

You guys just keep drinking the google kool-aid, till google wants the keywords your making money with.
Right now most of you are so small google pays no attention to you or the keywords you rank for.
When you start getting a little bigger, start getting enough traffic for google to notice you, your attitudes will change about google and their SERP... Mark my words.

I though everyone knew I am an American that lives in America.
But your right, I should have stated I was talking about US search results and not the totally different google SERP you see in the EU.

Google does treat the US and EU SERP quite different.

All of google's new stuff, algo tweaks etc. hits the US first and some new tweaks never hit the EU.

I really don't think the EU has seen the full impact of the newest Panda run yet.
If you guys in the EU had seen the full Panda run in the EU SERP, I don't think so many would be happy about the results.

Besides the fact the EU regulators are not bought off in the EU like they are in the US. So google does not dare push the envelope too far in Europe, like they do here in the US.

not at all like I said in the first post about it, as a user it would be exactly what I wanted and expect. Im thinking as the user not a webmaster

If we give Google what they want, which is good quality content, good quality sites linking to you, then there's no issues, and the best man will be the last man standing at the party

As soon as you get enough traffic for google to notice... they take the traffic.

Personally I love Google cool-aid, its what keeps me going! But seriously, stop being so paranoid and do as UKCasinoOnline mentioned, have google quality content and good quality sites linking to you and you'll be fine. I don't see how or why they would penalise your site because you're getting good traffic? If anything it would be the other way round? Unless the only reason you obtained traffic was through spam.

blackjack app online gets 200 monthly global searches anyway so they've hardly stolen billions of traffic lol

Panda updates always hitting BAd and Syndicated content websites.

For the most part, we weren't affected. We noticed a dip after the original panda update, but it evened out and we recovered. Our local sites (smaller, international sites in other languages) were hit harder. Some didn't recover, while others benefited. All in all, I'd say we came out neutral in the end.

Interesting in the article's poll (http://www.seroundtable.com/google-p...oll-17108.html) the majority of respondents said they didn't recover (44%).
