Once the states start legalizing the Feds will get involved.

That answers the question of interstate I was wondering about, offering their expertise to other states in exchange for players. They say it will be easy and they don't need Federal approval - besides for taxes.

It will be interesting to watch how it's built from the ground up. I wonder how the Indian casinos will fit in.

I am just glad because this is a huge step in the right direction! A few states get it going and hopefully the feds will then do something so it can be interstate.

The Feds should not even need to get involved in this one since AB114 authorizes Nevada to enter into compacts with other states. Individual States can enter into "compacts" with other States which will allow those players in the other States access to Nevada's online gaming. New Jersey will most likely set up the same type of arrangement into their online gaming bill that should be signed into law next week.

The current administration is not very fond of states rights. I think we are going to see the Feds get involved as more states join in. The U.S. Government seems determined to overreach and have their hands on everything.

Here is the Bill Text AB 114.

Looks like it covers barring anyone facing US after 2006, for 10 years. One needs a legal analyst for these things lol.

Sec. 3. 1. “Covered person” means any person who:
    (a) Has at any time owned, in whole or in significant part, an
interactive gaming facility or an entity operating an interactive
    gaming facility that:
    (1) After December 31, 2006, operated interactive gaming
involving patrons located in the United States; and
    (2) Acted with knowledge of the fact that such operation of
    interactive gaming involved patrons located in the United States;
    (b) After December 31, 2006, acted, or proposed to act, on
behalf of a person described in paragraph (a) and provided, or
proposed to provide, to such person any services as an interactive
gaming service provider, with knowledge that the interactive
gaming facility’s operation of interactive gaming involved patrons
located in the United States; or
    (c) Purchased or acquired, directly or indirectly:

Nevada is currently negotiating the intra-State deals to accept players from other states... Some of the other States are wanting people in their own state to be able to advertise the online play... So the restrictions on affiliates/agents that Nevada has put in place that Mojo highlighted, should be moot outside of Nevada.... Depending on What State the affiliate/agent lives in.

While they beat NJ, Nevada was actually the 2nd State to legalize online gambling with Delaware being the first. June of 2012.

Delaware hopes to get the first casino up in Sept 2013 from what I'm reading.
