Default Payment methods preferred by players

    Hi Everyone,

From an affiliate perspective, what payment methods do you see as being the most important for player acquisition?

Are there any payment methods an operator cannot live without?

Do you have any country specific requirements? Payment methods requested by Australian or Canadian players?

    Please share your thoughts.

    Thanks for your input

In Belgium the most popular payment method is a debit card. It is named Bancontact.

For USA players it is credit cards. If aprogram has good USA credit card approval rates they get a good spot on my site and actually in my top 5 searches, mastercard and credit card are search terms.

It's quite amazing that credit cards are still so prevalent. With all alternatives and the risks of Credit Cards... It's part the US market, part old habits, and part trust of players in the brands they play at.

I think in the UK most people are used to just using their debit cards, especially as a lot of the big bookies don't give bonuses on ewallets.

I'm both a affiliate, and a player. I prefer depositing, and withdrawing via bank wire, but that's because I don't have a credit card. I wouldn't feel safe on some smaller sites though giving them my credit card information.

Thanks so much to everyone for their input!

How important do you guys feel it is for operators to have payment methods other than Credit and Debit Cards? Do you think not having additional payment methods would be detrimental to an operators success?

    Thanks again

It is much easier to use a online account like Neteller or Skrill. You have a easy overview of your money. Easy to access. You can also withdrawl to those accounts.

I think many people use a Neteller account only for online gambling for example. You withdrawl in one casino. Can deposit it directly in a other casino. If you have all your "gambling money" in a Neteller account and you want to play in a other casino that doesn't offer Neteller it will be a fast decision to go to one of the many other casinos that do offer Neteller.

It will make a difference in the operators success in my opinion.

Moneybookers is popular, I don't think any USA affiliate company accepts paypal. Maybe Ultimate Poker now perhaps.

For Dutch players it is 100% Ideal. A direct/instant payment option from your bank account. The Dutch use it for everything online. No need to register, you only need a bank account

I remember in my Poker days Moneybookers was the most popular method.
In the U.S. market, of course, there is currently no payment solution except a few casino brands, ours included, that are able to process Credit Card deposits with no problem.

Defiantly credit cards are the best deposit option for the USA casinos, and of them Visa is probably the most widely used. My assumption is that US players feel some security in prepaid cards that are anonymous and regular cards that really can't be fooled with to much so long you look at your balance often.

I read that the new 100% legal online casinos opening in Nevada and New Jersey in Nov. will defiantly not allow credit card transactions to be used at all. Yet on the floor there are ATM's that will happily give you a cash advance with from your Visa with insane interest...

I am working on a UK facing site and I assuming that debit cards (for direct deposit back if they win) will be used more than Moneybookers. Is this true?
