Penalised by google for using getseobot?

Hey all,

Since several days I have been using the 5 free links at getseobot.

Today I find my site severely penalized by google.

I removed it from the site now to see what happens.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Update :

Now other search engines hate my site as well.

Traffic dropped dramatically!

Don't know where it goes wrong.

first thing to do is don't panic. we'll need some info first as well though so we can help. Is it the site in your sig? how old is the site? what things have you been doing recentlly? have you checked webmaster tools to see if there are any issues?

It's hard not to panic as I was doing quite well for a starter.

Yes it is the site in my sig, and is only about 5 months old. But it started when I began to use the free getseobot service.

You get to use 5 free links on their site and you have to put a link on your page and the seobot gets you backlinks automatically.

In my case a php link was added.

I put a link on all my pages and a few days after that it happened.

I think because of that link on every page, the site doubled in pages overnight, so I suspect this to be the mistake I made

also the google crawl rates have never been so high.

Webmastertools does not display any serious issues.

I'm sure i have no plagiarism, as I make up all the content myself.

last page I made was the live dealer casino page about a week ago, and I did the fetch as google bot thing and add to index, but it has never been added yet.

Also if I fetch the sitemap in Gwebmastertools it gets fetched, but not indexed for some weird reason.

I did remove the seobot link from my site 2 days ago, but now I find more search engines penalizing my site.

That's about it it I think.

All help appreciated very much.

I just noticed this yellow square at google webmaster tools.

I don't know if that has anything to do with it, as I cant really find out what it means.

All pages except the main domain, the casino page and the contact page are gone from serps, regardless of the position they where.

i need to know how many places they have dropped because doing a little checking they are in the SERPS still, well 100 pages out of 108 are still in the main search, for google.co.uk anyway. what country are you targeting?

As my main traffic is from The U.S. , I am using google .com.

My review page of the multiplayer video slots, and the fishing with buddies page where on first and second position in the google serps, now its totally gone.

Altavista seems to like me a bit still

for what searches mate? im not being picky, we just need to see exactly what and where you have moved. And also has the homepage actually moved any places?

well, if I typed "multiplayer video slots review" or "fishing with buddies multiplayer" or anything in that area I was on top of all results.

I am still learning the ropes, so not many pages where seo optimised yet. I started concentrating what I had learned so far with the review pages and got excellent results until I started using seobot.

right, what about the hopepage? has that dropped out of the ranking? what keywords ?

Has some results on "no deposit needed" but that's sort of a saturated key phrase, so had different results with different key phrases, also not totally seo optimized yet.

not being funny mate but if I can't get a fully clear idea of what was ranking with the homepage for what and where then we can't really help.

this might sound daft but were you logged into google before when you were searching or was it displaying personalised results? almost all of your pages are still in the main google index, not the supplemental index, the main one, so that's good.

if your homepage hasn't been dropped any places then I say you havent got a penalty. Are your affiliate stats showing a difference in traffic, impressions etc

getseobot is an automated link exchange program and those are specifically targeted and banned by google.

Your ONLY hope of recovering your site is to completely remove EVERYTHING to do with getseobot.

Then after making sure there is nothing that violates google's T&C's on your site, submit a review request to google through their webmaster tools panel.

Then wait a week or two to see if google has removed the bann from your site.

Oh Ya when you request a review from google... be sure to tell them your sorry, it was ignorance on your part... They like it when you grovel a little...

we have to determine whether he actually has had a penalty first though
