Default PlayCasino website Revamp - Please Review

    Hi Guys

We're busy revamping our flagship website PlayCasino.co.za and would love you to comment and make suggestions. Its currently being worked on behind the scenes, found here : http://www.onlinecasinosouthafrica.co.za/playcasino/

    A few points :
1/ We are still looking for layout ideas for the home page body (centre) so thats incomplete. If you have any ideas, please do not hesitate....

2/ The menus, left and right contain a full on dump of the existing sites content/pages and more. We have yet to categorize, sort and display them properly - Any ideas again will be appreciated.

    3/ Some functionality/pages aren't ready yet.

    Please comment and offer suggestions
    Thank you in advance

What I find a little strange is that the site seems to have a casino theme and yet the poker reviews, and then the bingo reviews, get higher billing than the casino reviews....

Upon first arrival, I immediately got the impression...."Gee I can read and navigate this site easily"

I like the layout a lot....

    Thanks Rick!

Yeah, we virtually copied over and dumped everything without defining placements. Over the coming week will be working on the placements of menus, reviews, articles and their hierarchy etc.

Built in Joomla, its actually quite simple to move menus and sections around. (Click of a button )

The home page body layout (between the left and right panels) is what's irritating me. Trying to figure what to put in there as this is where we either win or lose a vistor

Glad u like the overall layout.

    Thanks again

Do you use a particular program to create the Joomla templates?

I've never used it before. It looks like it's much easier to use than wordpress.. is it also built in php?

    Site looks good BTW

    Thanks Renee

No, you don't use a particular program to build the templates. They are simply created using a combination of php coding and css style sheets. And if you know enough php, you can place module positions absolutely anywhere that suits you on a template, even if you didn't design the template.

The reason its easier is because wordpress was originally built and designed to run blogs and heavy content style sites like forums, press release sites etc.

I think wordpress is playing catch up now with Joomla (especially in the visual functionality department) because joomla also continuously has developers coming up with new plugins and components. And because the joomla community is bigger, support is ALWAYS available.

The first impression that i got was "Very user friendly" and that is I guess what attracts the majority of the traffic at any site.

    hi there playcasino1,

the only things which bothered me were..

    a) domain = Online Casino South Africa <=> logo "Play Casino / come play". Make your logo more "relevant".

    b) your website is apparently focused to online casinos. Why are you offering poker to the visitors in "the best selling area" of your website? Poker is not what they are looking for?

    c) move the search option to the top of the right column and align website logo and the right-hand-side-banner "to be in line".

Very nice looking anyway, Sorry for the typing mistake!

    br,
    -J-

PS- Only my opinions, not to be considered as "ultimate truths"

This site is being built on an unused domain and once its 100% ready, it will replace the current site on the playcasino.co.za domain.

The website is not complete. Still tons to do and the site has been put on hold until we know whats happening with the online gambling law in SA. Furthermore, as there are just a handful of casinos that accept Rands (SA currency), we thought it would be wise to include poker, sportsbetting etc on the site. Poker and Sportsbetting are quite popular in SA.
