    Default Please review our site

Having got very little traffic with my first site and giving up I decided to have another go - but not working by myself this time.

    The new site is frogthegambler.com.

It has been going about 5 months. It is all football at the moment but racing is in the pipeline.

Would be grateful for any comments, however negative, about how we can improve it.

I must say, I like your site. It is kind orientated to sports betting maniacs, or from traders's prospective, kind of a tool/ set to kick the asses of some nice games.

All the pages are dominated by bet365 banners, maybe they are your main bookie target, but why do not you put some more other banners. I must admit that your game preview and info regarding tips and stats look very decent.

One clue, think outside of the box and put your back to only UK orientated bookies. If I used to bet, I would definitely follow your bets.

Why do not you do any subscrition form or kind of a buletine? Thinks as gamblers, what more and attractice features you like to see ?

I like your site, keep it up and put more tips for tennis, basket, cricket, horse racing.

BTW I love boxing and MMA - you are keen and enthusiastic guys, I can bet you can invest more in the near future.

First I like the site. it kinda stands out vs all the image oriented sites. Nice!

I second on the monetization part - it's fine as you are getting started but you should improve it for sure. For example, on each page you place the bet tip on top with that small logo where to place it - but the logo is not clickable (at least for me). It kind of doesn't make sense not to have it as link.
There are many other things in that area such as all BET365 banners and so on. Give it some thought.

Links - would suggest that you pass the links through some inner redirect like /go/bet365 - that way if something goes wrong you can change them all at once.

Anyway, really nice work. Keep it up.

Different design. Catches the eye but wouldn't know if conversions are good.

Do not expect to 'win it big' with traffic very soon, and don't give up too soon. It's more about acquiring links and clicks, the traffic will follow.

I love the domain name because it's very memorable. The site loads very quickly, but there is a lot of empty/wasted space under the "Starting Soon" section that can be filled with info, banners, tickers or something.

    drifter8,
    Thanks for your comments.

Building systems and putting up tips for other sports is quite easy. The time consuming thing is writing the previews. We will add more overtime.

What is 'buletine'? I tried googling but not luck.

    MMM,

Thanks for the information on monetization. The problem we face is a lot of the terms seem to be you have to get X depositors in the first three months or you are out. This makes testing new bookies quite hard until we get more traffic.

The tips on more links and directing internal is great. Thanks. I will look to do this overtime.

    Sweetbet,

Thanks for your reply. The domain name I thought up years ago. It was (is) my forum name Betfair back in the 2000s. We wanted something people would remember because it is kind of crazy.

Will look to fill the empty spaces as we get more content.

I mean live news feed. This word does not exist in English Pardon me for that. So you look too ethusiastic and could handle bit more work load

Wow, love the site. That's a lot of effort put in for the preview content, and this is coming from someone who has a tennis preview site and understands the amount of effort needed for it. Love the fast loading of the website too. Way to go, keep it up.

Nice looking site, and fast loading. I agree with all suggestions mentioned above regarding how to monetize the site. I totally like the Preview part of the site.
Some things are missing though. I would like to sign up for either newsletter, or daily/weekly/weekend tips. That way you build up your prospect list, and we have tips and maybe make some money! All happy!
To be honest, I will follow on some tips and see how it goes. Will let you know. Keep it up good work!

    PROS :
    I like the name.
I like that you've got a "shed-load" full of content and tips / stats on a lot of matches.

    NEUTRAL :
I surf with ad-blocker on as a default - so I see ZERO banners or commercial links of any sort on your site.
I do see bookie logos - but they are not clickable affiliate links. So you can't monetise me at all? Add a text link or two.

    CONS :
The "tips" seem automatically generated content? And much of it is below-average computer babble?
Here is a look I took at one of them "

eg. Sheffield Utd v Liverpool is a "Gold tip". https://frogthegambler.com/match-pre...ed-v-liverpool

You analyse Shieldfield Utds last 52 games in detail with lots of averages - without noting that they got promoted this year and that they PRemier League is far tougher than the Championship? Then you take a "both sides to score : no" and say it has a "particularly good rating" ... why?

A "previews" site lives and dies on it's analysis - and after looking at a couple of yours it appears that there is minimal human input.

    -----------------

    OVERALL :
I think the site looks clean, the layouts are nice and simple and the name FrogTheGambler is great.
But the "pretend" human analysis lets it down especially when it misses basics.

I wish you luck but as a punter I wouldn't bookmark the site or return to it in present form.
A "tips" and stats site (without analysis) might survive if you can show regualr profits on your tips.

Thanks for your feedback. Will think about email in future for the gold bets.

    Hi Gooner,

Thanks for your reply. Very useful.

Given your feedback the methodology behind the tips needs to be made a lot clearer. You are right the 'particularly good rating' needs explanation. It is a good rating on the model I have built and refined over twenty of years as a professional gambler. We will be adding a page showing the results of the gold bets when we get the chance.

It is an interesting point about promoted teams. One solution would be for league matches to only show the stats for the league they are playing in I suppose. Currently it is for all competitions. Cup games is a different situation though.

Thanks for the tip off on ad blockers. Banners is clearly not the way to go long term.

    Glad your like the name!

    Thanks again.

I have fr suggestion more after I checked all I can see from the prospective of a customer :

    - menu on the top is very simple. Try to thinkg that average visitor of any sports/gambling/casino or tispter orientated site is ovedloaded with info, banners, teams and stats. Jut explain with more details what can be seen , section in the menu like bonuses, bookies, bookies reviews. You have to catch the attention of any single person in the first 5 seconds.

    - table - so as from my point of view table with short info is always a very helpful clue and tool. YOu can see in 20-30 second, which bookies are available, what is the minimum bet, what bonuses do they offer and just one CTA button.

-The background layout colour, should be dark theme or colour. It is like you get lost in a " snowy" situation We people who ike to bet love the colours, make it more vivid

    - this will be something mentioned for the second time - void the blank spaces. It is like you get lost agin in the labyrinth or maybe just went on a wrong page.

Hope my critics is helpful enough

Quality website. I liked the convenient and fast mobile version. The page about us looks very trustful.
Good domain, in your place I would be engaged in brand promotion.
"Real time" searching is very good.
Are you specifically not referring to affiliate programs? It seems to me that it's time.
If you continue in the same vein, your site will have a great future

I'd look at smaller bookies which offer good odds.

The hardest thing with a new site is that they are always saturated with big brands, if your focus is UK 75% of players will already have an account with the big boys.

    Just my suggestion.

    Good luck!

    Drifter8,

Thanks for your further advise. Interesting comment about the labyrinth. Maybe we need some sort of breadcrumbs under the menus. We tried in with a darker background originally with a lot more green and everyone hated it. But will think again on colors. The advise on conversions we will definitely look at.
