A Poker Bot that can beat the Pros

Using an article title of "This Bot could ruin online poker" I think is pushing it too far and is using a sensationalized headline to increase the readership, but no surprise there.

according to its creators, researchers from Facebook and Carnegie Mellon University.

This is interesting in that since facebook are the creators and are funding the research, they will now have a fully tested bot they can use on their own poker platform.

I was very intrigued to learn that the bot was fairly successful at bluffing

Based on the test results so far it looks like they can fill tables with their bots/fake accounts and take a lot of money from players who think they are playing against humans.

But that would never happen, would it?

Artificial Intelligence is absolutely fascinating. Technology has certainly come such a long way. In no time they will have these machines (no, not terminators, just normal robots) doing all of our everyday chores for us. It's amazing how they can learn at a much quicker rate than anyone and are also a lot smarter. I also read that they intend to create robot butlers, medical doctors and babysitters!... I wonder what they'll come up with next.

That's a game that has like a gazillion combinations and takes decades to master. And that was in 2017. Never thought I'd give in to Musk's paranoia, but here we are.

On the side note, I'm waiting for the casinos to include this bot to every poker room as a player in disguise lol.
