Poker rooms
Hi,
I'm working on my site and currently are thinking of promoting a number of online poker rooms however it is hard to determine if I should choose for a per user sign up or percentage of the rake. I know asking about revenue issues on these forums are not allways appreciated, but can anybody give any opinion about what to choose when marketing poker rooms? Any comments and ideas are highly appreciated.

Hello cr,
The general answer is the same as for the casinos - the answer lies in knowing your customers and traffic quality. In this case, are the players you are sending serious poker players, or is their focus somewhere else and they are trying poker out of curiosity? I would lean toward a percentage of revenue plan if you are sending players from a tightly focused poker site - these are more likely to be long term players. If you are unsure about your players, a CPA is the safer route. When possible, I like to try a mix of both - even in cases when I thought I knew my audience well, I am often surprised at the results.

if you decide to promote the microgaming poker rooms; I highly recommend doing it thru casino rewards.
I've had about half a dozen problems brought to me; and have been successful each time; thanks to Brent.
the complaints were mostly generated thru other poker room faces like fortune's royal vegas.

Brent does seem to have a good rep. Answered a trivial email within 6hrs yesterday, as I'm in the UK that's pretty good going.

Thank you all for your replies and your comments about signup/percentage. Since poker room revenues was based on a the rake and not the losses of individual players I was unsure on what to choose.
