    Default Poker or slots?

I've put up a few basic pages - nothing special, and about the same for poker, slots and blackjack. Looking at the traffic (low hundreds), blackjack is negligible, and poker is about four times the volume of slots. Is this typical, or is it accidental as a result of my specific mix? I was thinking of majoring with slots initially, but it looks as if I should put more effort into poker.

what you know and like? You have any understanding in Poker? Slots?

I am not attacking or anything, but you can make money from Poker, Slots, Blackjack and I assume from any casino game. But to do that, it far more important that you or someone who works with you, understands something in that area, than the number of searches.

Thanks for the reply, but my question was not about promoting the sites, or an indication of my knowledge. In fact I played cards for a living for a couple of years in my late teens (but the net wasn't around then). The question was about the volume of traffic on the net these days, and whether there are more poker players looking for new casinos than slots players on the hunt.

Slots, you can't get professional slots players to cream your accounts.

According to a number of articles that I've read in the past, slot machines attract a higher number of female players, while poker is mostly played by males. So you might want to analyze your site's traffic by gender, etc.

If it were me, I would absolutely be voting for Slots games over Poker games any day of the week! I reckon you should stick with Slots games on this one. Trust me.

I'm just so addicted to playing Slots games for some reason. I guess maybe because there are a variety of different games and themes, plus you can also play with more slots reels and there are different prizes to be won every day of the week throughout the years.

Poker has a lot of search volume ... but it's also quite low value earnings per player.
Most poker players searching for poker sites are "fish" and will not deposit anything much.

Slots players are fewer in number, but the spend is usually a higher value.
For our sites we find that casino revenue is 5-6 times more than poker revenue.

But I am NOT have a poker specialist - perhaps you can write great poker content that will attract better poker players.

As always the results will be determined by YOUR skills, YOUR sites, YOUR partners.
The choice has to be YOURS to make.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I guess it confirms what I suspected. The last time I promoted poker sites, there were a load of guys looking for sites where they could play with the house money. I think the idea was to start a new game if a new player found an empty table. I believe that they were allowed to keep a small percentage of the winnings, but didn't have to pay the losses ( if any). Does that still go on?

This must continue, for my part, I prefer the casinos. Poker did not bring me much.
    I had a poker site.

These are the domain names I've got with Name Silo = http://marketsites.namesilo.com/site/746/

I'm moving some others into this portfolio as I sort myself out.

As I mentioned in some other threads, I've been looking at casino site templates to get myself started, but I've only started a couple of sites right now -
Ace Fun and Safe Online Slots

They are on shared hosting at the moment, and most of the links need populating. I'm renting a VPS server, and I'm looking at moving them onto that to help with traffic management. It's all taking a fair bit of time as I work out where I'm going, and how I'm going to get there. I'm also a bit distracted by a raft of political issues at the moment.

Poker players are used to search the market for better offers, rake back and rooms with "fish" players.

The easier the field the higher the chance they can win. On the other hand, there are a lot of slot type of games with toons of advertising, so the typical slot player is more impulse oriented then a “grinder” poker style. They are bombarded every day with free spins and special prizes. Poker has a first deposit bonus and that’s mostly it.

In short, slots are more profitable but you have to work digital marketing and have a good outbound strategy (mail marketing, AdWords, social adds) in poker you will get a lot mora traffic to the website so inbound marketing is a good option. Good content, great info and a long term value based strategy.

When it comes to content slots, I think it’s all about understanding the audience you’re targeting. If the content aligns well with their interests, the slots tend to perform better. Also, regularly updating the content and optimizing it for SEO can make a big difference. Have you noticed any particular types of content that work best for your slots?
