About LinkBacksSo, when talking about site promotion I hear Delicious and Technorati all too frequently...
Both are bookmarking sites... with "shared" bookmarks.
How are they different from standard directories?
Do they drive traffic?
Do they add to PageRank or SERPs?
Should I be tagging my own pages or other related pages?
Do tags have to be explicit or do the sites find them based on the content of the page?
I guess the ultimate question I have... Is it worth the time and what are some proven techniques to make these sites work for me?

I use them, every time I publish a blog I will bookmark it there. As I use the onlywire FireFox plugin, it posts to the majority of my social sites automatically. I really have not seen a ton of traffic from either site, Stumble has been working the best.
One thing it does do though is give you a backlink and I will form time to time see someone coming from a Technorati site. If you use Onlywire, then it is no more effort and the backlink will help. If I were submitting manually, I would most likely skip those two as they have the least traffic to me.--

Yes they are. It takes a week or two for a certain site to get listed on directories unlike social network sites.

Delicious is a social bookmarking website where you bookmark sites that you like and others can see your bookmarks. It is nominally useful.
