In case you missed it, last week PokerStars officially ceased operations in Israel. According to an email sent out to all Israel PokerStars players, the shutdown was due to a review of “commercial opportunities and business risks” that forced PokerStars to cease all real money gaming within the country.

Another possible reason for the move?

According to Global Poker Index boss Alex Dreyfus there is a potential takeover bid by an Israeli investor. Commenting on the situation via his Twitter account, Dreyfus speculated that a new owner may want to avoid any legal issue their local region.
