Default PokerStars - Sneaky activation - or what?

PokerStars wrote to me today threatening an account closure as we hadn't referred and customers in the last three months.

Initial thoughts were WTF? We've not worked with them since Black Friday, aren't they a "new" group now ? But they seem to have resurrected an affiliate account stub based on an old player account I have there ... oh back in 2006?

Of course I have a database of such things and was able to login (eventually) using old account details - and then able to wipe all the details from the account record. Then reply to their email telling them to delete it.

But this is just a heads up - if you've ever worked with poker stars - or played with poker stars and referred players then your details may have been resurrected and sitting in their new affiliate system.

I got the same email today. I guess they are cleaning up the affiliates they have left.

I had the same email. PokerStars don t like affiliates. They think: we are number 1 in poker online and don t need affiliates.
We will see in a few years...
