Polish casino website - new layout?
Hi guys,
From few months I run polish website focused on casino players - http://automatybarowe.pl At the beginning I liked layout of the site, however now it looks for me a bit oldfashioned and I'm thinking about changing it. I get main traffic from reviews and seo articles, so I changed a bit sidebar inside articles few weeks ago and now IMO they look far better e.g. http://automatybarowe.pl/automaty-do...iwe-pieniadze/
So the main question is should I change layout of the site or can I keep it? If you advise changing, do you know how it will impact seo? Or maybe you know where to find someone who can change only homepage on my wordpress layout? Thanks for any feedback.
Regards
Petr

Hi Petr,
the layout itself is very nice, I like your website. Are you thinking of changing the layout or the entire template?
You should mind the size of the code. It may impact your seo if the code is heavy and the site is loading longer. Page performance is one of the ranking metrics and you can check it here (replace xx with tt): hxxps://gtmetrix.com/reports/automatybarowe.pl/PnqqfLZV
I'd recommend to change the font too as it doesn't show the special signs correctly. Please notice, that the Polish letters like ą, ć, ż are bigger than other characters.
Keyword density is also quite high, especially in the article you mentioned. Almost every H2 headline inculdes the keyword "na prawdziwe pieniądze", which looks spammy.
I'm native Polish too and currently working on optimizing another project.
I wish you all the best and good luck with your website!

Thank your for feedback, it was really helpful for us as our polish copywriter changed the h2 headlines for not spammy ones. Right now we will stay with old layout, however we still need to change fonts.
Good luck to you too

Hi,
Do you track your conversions? When evaluating a design change it's always good to do it with a conversion goal in mind. That way your not just relying on personal opinions for whether a design works, you can back it up with what the data says too.

Hi chrisjopher,
thanks for the answer. Yes we track conversion rates but we have several problems. Right now we can track only clicks but we would rather track NDC or at least registrations. However, affiliate programs do not able us to do that, so we back up with data but unfortunatelly information is not complete in this matter.
Opinions about design is always helpful, because changing design it's big change, which can influence our SEO and UX, so if most people like it there will be need to change. Currently we want to introduce some kind of survey about the layout and UX on our site. Maybe users will help us answer the question about changing layout.

Well opinions can be helpful, but they can also often be wrong
Track your outgoing clicks to your merchants over 100 visitors (or however many makes sense for your level of traffic). Design 1 vs Design 1 with small design change. If the version with the small design change wins, then it's good for click-throughs and should stay. If not, test it against another design change.
Rather than spending time on a new design that may or may not make you more money, perhaps better to focus on doing something that definitely will
Good luck!
