Hi Guys,

Do you know a program that would give you back your players in case an agreement is terminated?

I've never seen any such one. All the operators I work for have an article that they may terminate the agreement at any time by their sole discretion.

I never thought that's fair - I mean we - the affiliates invest much in our web site and personally I invest in Google for quality traffic - while I understand it is normal that each party must have the right to terminate an agreement I do not find it fair that the operator would get your clients after all your efforts.

Let me explain what I mean - I'm referring to a situation in which an operator does not provide explanation - I would understand if the affiliate is in breach of T &C .... the question is ... the articles in their T & C gives them the right to just cancel your agreement ... because they decided to do so. And never so far I have seen an article explaining what would happen to your clients .... meaning that they will stay with the operator who eventually will profit. I think this creates dangerous precedent - giving chances for future rogue programs.

So have you ever seen a program that would send you the data of your players in case THE PROGRAM decided cooperation with you is no more beneficial and wants to end it?

I\m asking this question because I recently saw in forums that affiliates who have refereed significant number of clients to an operator were terminated.

I really want my partners to be (relatively) predictable - so here is another question - which operators you know have suddenly changed T&C that affect commissions (for example from NO NCO to NCO) ????

The casinos cannot give away player information. All you can do to protect yourself is research reputable programs and promote those plus you could also encourage players to give you their contact details themselves

The Data Protection Act would prevent a reputable casino from giving player data of any player back to the affiliate that referred that player, I cannot think of a single reason why an affiliate would revieve any player data back. Plus it makes no sense to say, sorry we're closing your affiliate account so here is a spreadsheet with the personal details of the 400 players that you sent over.

At the end of the day, the affiliate does not own the player and has no legal hold over the players details, neither does the casino but it should legally protect the players data. It's the players choice to choose where they play.

yes of course its player choice .... and in fact even if the casino gives a spreadsheet with contact emails and the affiliate email clients it will not make much of a difference as the players may not even remember you ... most of them pass through the affiliate site once during a campaign (which is my case) ...

I asked the question because I've read of an affiliate whose acc was closed with the reason he only had old players .. no new ones and partnership is no longer beneficial ... i was disappointing to read that

Best place to keep up on the changes in the programs T&C's is "Affiliate Gard Dog" they have a bot that exclusively targets changes in affiliate programs T&C's, when they find a change Andy publishes it for everyone to read.

As far as getting player data from a casino/affy program: No program is going to give you the data on punters. First of all as Martyn points out it is illegal in most countries to give away/sell private data.

But that is not even the real reason... the real reason is that list of players is worth real money(Bigger the list - Bigger the money)... and the casino/affy program would be giving you all that money... for basically nothing. Then after you get the list, you would be competing directly with the casino marketers for 'proven' depositors/super qualified leads, that are on that list... Why should the casino/affy program do that? it is nothing but downside for them.

If you want player info, your going to have to collect it yourself.

You do a raise an interesting question and I have often thought the same thing myself, but as Lotso and Martyn have said - No casino would give you the player lists for various legal and monetary reasons.
Technically an operator could terminate your relationship out of the blue and keep every player you have ever referred to them.....however the only thing you can do to safeguard yourself is to ensure you only deal with reputable companies, read their tc's and c's and keep an eye on the forums for any negative comments. A rule of thumb I try and follow is not to give one program too much exposure, so if they do hit the wall or terminate the agreement I still have other sources of income to fall back on.

Bottom line is that it boils down to high risk = high returns and vice versa. Our industry is very high risk but there is also big money to be made so the risks equal the rewards.
