4 years after smashing the record for the worlds largest transfer fee with a bid of £80m for Ronaldo, they have attempted to make a statement yet again by setting the bar higher with a bid of 85m for Gareth Bale.

Incredible but do you expect anything less from RM?

The question is, will Levy sell after making assurances to the fans? He has a history of going back on his word. I have a few friends who are Tottenham fans and they are dead against this. Do you think it is a good deal for both sides?

Also what does this mean for Ronaldo, we all know he is obsessed with becoming the best player of all time setting record after record. Recently he even asked for more money or to be on parity with Lionel Messi. Will Ronaldo go in to full sulk mode at the thought of a new kid on the block who may give him a run for his money with acolades.

Think it's only a matter of time before Ronaldo goes back to Man Utd. Real can pre-empt this and lessen the blow by signing Bale. I'm surprised that they're willing to pay such a ridiculous fee for him though, as I don't think he'd bring that much value to the team - scoring goals isn't exactly their main problem. For Spurs on the other hand, losing Bale will mean they're essentially giving up on challenging for Champions League qualification and it'll cause uproar amongst the fans, so I'm not surprised they're holding out. If Real bid 3 figures he'll be off though I think.
