    Default Reciprocal Link Software

I am thinking to set up an automated link exchange system rather than using a manual system. I'm not sure if search engines discount points for this method, but really, even if they do I would prefer to have an automated program that will check for return links and remove those who are not linking back.

I know there are many programs out there. A few I glanced at (briefly) were autolinkpro.com, linkautomate.com and linktolink.com

I was just curious if anyone has a particular product they would recommend (and why). It should also be noted that I use a windows server because I use some ASP (active server pages) coding on select pages, so I will need something that will perform on a windows machine.

Anyway, I guess what I'm asking is, what do you use to manage your links, and why that product?

Here is a new one that is targeted at our market. I have only just set it up on one site and still need to add information. Still, you may want to try it.

    Gambling Link Builder

They also have a 2 tier system for resellers so that can be a plus too.

I just thought I would revisit this topic to follow up with what I concluded. There are lots of seemingly good options for a nominal fee, but I ended up with one that costed absolutely nothing, so I wanted to share the info with people here.

I first noticed that my web host included a program called phplinks, which seemed ok, but I hated the design. It was an open source program so I was trying to find some documentation on the program so that I could customize it more. What I found was that it is a project that has apparently been abandoned for 2+ years, and that virtually no documentation exists.

However, as part of that search I found someone who had picked up on the project and continued it with their own revisions, adding lots of better features, such as reciprocal link checkers and all the tools that we like, It's still an open source program for those who like to make custom modifications, but I found it to be quite sufficient on it's own.

Anyway, I just wanted to quickly leave a link for anyone who may be searching for a nice free option in the future.

Thanks for following up on this.

I may take a look at this as I have wanted to write one but haven't had the time. Having something to start with like this may be what I need.

I haven't had a chance to play around with it too much yet. Too much? Heck, I haven't even done much more than upload the files. lmao.

It should be interesting to see what all they have done with it though. One feature I am hoping they built was the ability to not just rotate links randomly, but to weight that rotation (similar to how you weight banners in phpads) to make some links more likely to have good position.

Just one more quick note here, for anyone planning on using this product. There are 2 versions of this product available - an SEF version and a non-SEF version.

The SEF is the preferred version, but requires you to have permission to change server directives via .htaccess. Some hosts will allow you to upload a .htaccess file, others will not. If yours does not, use the non-SEF version.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread.

I've got the basic set up in place for this link exchanger. I still have some modifications I want to make, but it would be easier to do if I had a few links populating the database so I can test things out.

Therefore, if you'd like to drop in a link, please feel free to do so - just don't be upset if it gets accidentally wiped out and you have to readd yourself at some future date.

I have been watching this thread with interest. I even downloaded the stuff, but have absolutely no idea how to get it to work. I will keep trying.
