Recognition for Active Members

One of my goals to encourage more participation in the GPWA is to try to show some appreciation to members that have been active participants.

Toward that end, I had our development group prepare some reports of activity by members during the month of July, and CityGuard reviewed the reports and prepared a list of top contributors. We tried to look for quality and not just quantity of posts since we don't want to encourage members to just add a bunch of posts that are simply noise.

So how are we going to show our appreciation?

How about with links to your sites! We are going to redesign the home page to accomodate a few more links, and you will all be listed there until next month when we update the list again. And we are also going to redo the member sites page itself to feature the sites of our most active members first. My goal is to move more toward using member links as a thank you rather than as a way to make a few extra bucks.

So, if you missed the list this month, and would like to be included next month, it's easy, just be an active participant. It'll be noticed! And if we messed up and missed you even though you were active last month, let me know. We're only human, so we do make mistakes sometimes, and we can't fix them if you don't let us know.

While we're on the subject of links, GPWA used to carry everyone's sites on Links pages (I used Links Manager), but I think they've all disappeared now. Any chance we can get them back?

The member sites pages that existed at the time we acquired the GPWA site are still there with some revisions to fit with the new site navigation - just visit the home page of the GPWA site and click on the "Member Sites" navigation link at the top of the home page. However, as far as I can tell, the list of member websites has not been updated for a very long time. Even Casino City is not listed, and I joined a couple years ago. But never fear, we do plan on updating the list.

The initial website redesign of a few weeks ago, and the member recognition program I just announced in this thread comprise a very small tip of the very big iceburg representing our plans for the GPWA. So you can safely assume that what we have done so far are just a few small baby steps before we start running.

This is a great idea, and I thank you for the fp link as well.

I've received so much just being a member here, the knowledge base alone is gold. The friendships and support I could not have found anywhere else, it's really an amazing place.

Even through our "growing pains", it's been here, day in and day out, and I am eternally grateful it was here when I needed it most.

It's a two-way street, you know. I know I would never have gotten anywhere with my sites if it weren't for GPWA. I have to log in every morning or my day isn't complete.

No problem with changing the link -- I didn't see a URL in your profile so ended up just guessing (saw some reference to blackjackguide.net in a prior post but assumed jackpotcasinoguide.com was your primary site due to the name ).

I edited the original posting of the list so that it now includes BlackjackGuide.net (www.blackjackguide.net) instead of Jackpot Casino Guide (www.jackpotcasinoguide.com).

Just want to let everyone know the links are now up on the home page. We also added them to the news and resource page.

On the member site section, we also feature them along with page images on the initial page in that section.
