If i was you i would save my money, your very unlikely to see a ROI, all of the best places such has google and overture stopped accepting gambling ads.

First of all , what are you trying to market ?
Casino / Poker rooms,Portal, something else ?

The main options are as follows, although $1000 is hardly enough to make a significant effort at anyone of them.

1)PPC - also as mentioned in the other replies not really relevant for gambling in the major engines. ( the smaller ones are much harder and require more funds )

2)SEO - any decent SEO firm would charge much more than this amount to get going especially in a competitive market as gambling.

3) Media buying - no chance, good targeted media is expensive and hard to come buy.

As stated before, I feel that your best move would be to spend the $1000 learning more about the industry and different marketing tools. Website design / build would also be a good investment.
Look into links software's and possibly implantation of a CMS on your site. There are many small tweaks that can be helpful.


Go to webmasters forums, read articles about site optimization and media buying.
