Widget needed to reduce bounce rate

I have a page on my blog with a bonuce rate of 80%.
I need an widget sport or something else for my page Bet of the day where people enter to see the predictions and then leave.
I need something to keep them on my page more then a few seconds.
My blog have a 50% bounce rate.

a high bounce rate on one single page is probably pretty irrelevant. imagine a tv guide, or a scores site.... or a weather site.. people get what they want in seconds and leave - satisfied.

focus on reducing avg bounce rate for the site imho.

otherwise, perhaps open the page/post for discussions - get some interaction going on on the page, or another idea to keep people on the page for a bit = an automatically generated image gallery on the page [snaps of team A / team b in action]

If you content contains links to bookies , perhaps make them open in another browser window rather than current window.

If your site is thin, or lacks content, or has something that can be read quickly, and then thats it, then this will result in a high bounce rate. Give them something extra to click on within your content, to help potentially convert some of the traffic. One of my main sites has a bounce rate of 70%, yet it still converts really well.

This gets discussed frequently on the forums. A high bounce rate isn't necessarily a bad thing - if the user is visiting your site and then leaves to go to a bookie or casino without visiting any other pages then you've done your job.

To get a better idea of your bounce rate you could assign 'events' to your affiliate links and then track them in google analytics. This way if a user clicks an aff link if won't be a bounce anymore.

Have a look at the code attached the 'bet now' links in the list on this page to get an idea of what I mean.

Bounce Rate also has a lot to do with page speed.

The page does not need to fully load to count in the bounce rate, partially loaded pages that a user backed out of or canceled before the page was fully loaded count as part of your bounce rate.

The site in your sig tag is slow to load in my browser and I am on a very very fast connection... Not good for bounce rate. A lot of people will back out before the page fully loads.

I would wager that if you are able to speed up the loading time of your pages, your bounce rate will improve as well.

I just tried that site, and although the page speed was acceptable, it is more like 4-5 seconds from the US. This is likely normal for a site with this extension since the traffic you are targeting is probably not the US.

Rick I am like a open book for you.) The traffic that I am targeting is Romania because I dont see how native english speakers or others will understand something on my blog.

might have to do with the coding on that page... I couldn't even get it load with out dropping all my security... and me lowering my security ain't gonna happen, especially with a .ro site.
