Find source of clicks to affiliate links?

I'm witnessing a sudden surge in signups to one brand, from a few a month to 19 in 3 days.

My best clue for the origin of those clicks is that I named the affiliate link "live streaming". So it's definitely on one of my live streaming pages but I don't know which one(s). And I don't know which exact CTA(s) people clicked so many times.

Can this be tracked if I set up Events in Google Analytics? Is this the way to go so I can always know which exact CTA link are the signups coming from? How do you track this on your sites?

Couldn't you use Google Analytics on all your sites that has that brand, then check the outgoing links? Then you can check the city, to make sure it is not from one person.

[Maybe that person keeps losing its internet connection on the casino site and keeps going through your site to access again instead of making a bookmark in their browser.]

When checking Google analitics it often doesnt know the actual source / mediaum so Id reccomend that you watch a couple of quick youtube training videos on setting your own tracking links in Events. This kind of insight can make a huge difference to your ongoing marketing development moving forward.

Yeah just set up events, does exactly what you're talking about. Can set multiple parameters so could look at both page and location of link within the page. Depends how in depth you want to go.

Will obviously only track clicks though. If the program is IA you may want to add a custom variable to the links to identify where the sign ups are coming from.

when page loads, get the user IP , then do a geolookup , save the data in the session.
then when user clicks a merchant link, you can add the geo dimension to the data sent to google / saved locally [perhaps w/ an ajax onclick tracker saving data locally [you can save PID here too, like IP] , and triggered on clicks on outgoing links]

if someone's abusing your system, well - ban their IP.
