Default Reducing First Input Delay on Mobile?

Does anyone actually understand how to do the suggestions in this article?:https://web.dev/optimize-fid/

    If so, you're hired.

    For real, PM me

Alternatively, those all seem like very technical things to implement, anyone have any advice?

    Hey!

I dont know exactly what you've done to optimize your site yet. But to improve FID, you can lazyload images (images has priority loading), load critical css and defer everything below the fold, defer javascripts. Make sure you serve images in modern / optimized format, make use of CDNs to deliver content (not as big issue on http2, but still makes a difference).

I assume you've checked pagespeed insights to see what blocks the printing of the website.

If you use Wordpress its a really simple task to optimize these things.

We have, unfortunately GPSI does NOT tell us what causes the FID.

I would be willing to PAY someone to figure it out for us at this point. This is the ONLY metric left to fix in our CWV, and it was PERFECT up until May 8th... no clue why it went to **** after that because we cannot find any alterations we made to the code that would have caused it.

    We do NOT use Wordpress.

Drupal for the win (or loss in this case).

CMS be damned, I think anyone with some reasonable coding talent could diagnose and fix our problem. I unfortunately, am not that guy.

its all about trial and error sometimes certain optimisations in the cache make it load slower, i had my whole code rewritten in cleaner blocks which helped a ton.. maybe time for a suite redesign?

    Can you recommend someone?

We definitely need a cleaned up theme.

And within the next 18 months we need a CMS upgrade to Drupal 9, plus code clean up.

I would love to hire someone for some and/or all of these jobs now however, to get ahead of the curve!
