Default Reef Media Affiliate Network - Anyone know them?

Hi - anyone have any opinions on working with Reef Media affiliate network? or aff networks in general rather than direct with the operator. Seems like they can get you a decent deal which is good when your starting out, but is there a downside to this?

Some affiliate programs (like us for example) do not work with networks.

There are plenty of threads here regarding the pros and cons of working with networks. Lots of reasons for and against.

The downside is that they control your money, they also used to spam the hell out of affs on this board and even when asked to stop kept pushing out the spam

You use their software to see whats earned, you don't work direct with the casino.. so if they close up shop one day you can say goodbye to your lifetime clients.

I have good and bad experiences with networks. Usually, i prefer direct deals but like to switch traffic.
I.e. if i run into a pretty big negative in the beginning of a month, i like it to switch from my usual operator rev-share deal to a network cpa until i´m back to earn/end of the month.

Surely i can miss some money in the long run but keep a cash flow.

I don´t like to work with networks, as was already said here, they control your money, if they decide to close up you say good bye to all your clients from all the brands that you list through twhile if you promote casino 1 directly and the casino decides to close, you lose customers from that particular casino.

    And it should be said,

"If they close up and you lose your clients, depending on the deals they set up (using your traffic) THEY keep your clients, since in reality, they were never yours, you gave them to the network and the operator.

Speaking about Reef Media specifically you can't use their affiliate network for brands you have worked with at least 3 months prior of signing with Reef. Was an issue for us.

    Hi,

Do not work with them. They have now predatory terms & conditions. If you stop send players they close your account, and you lose all players and lifetime revenue share deals:

Thats why I stopped working with them. A lot of hard work and money down the drain. But I guess thats always a risk you take when you go with affiliate networks instead of straight to the bookies.

And of course, THEY continue to earn revshare from YOUR players you sent.

Another example of the risk associated with working with third parties and "networks".

This type of arrangement should only be considered on CPA - not revshare. Even then, it's debatable depending on the level of trust that exists between the master affiliate and the sub affiliate. I can see the appeal when promoting a lot of brands but not generating a lot of signups on lesser promoted ones, could be a great way to consolidate - but for all the reasons mentioned above could be problematic. At least with CPA you could quickly change directions if hiccups occur.

We always work directly with programs and not through networks. Best to be in control of and manage your own destiny.
