Default Research finds Internet gambling 'not predictive of gambling problems'

In a new paper, Dr. Sally Gainsbury explores the relationship between online gambling and the newly defined medical condition of "disordered gambling." She concludes that "Internet gambling does not cause gambling problems in, and of, itself," debunking the arguments presented by the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling (CSIG), which presents online gambling as the "crack cocaine" of gambling.

Meanwhile, the exact opposite is probably true for online shopping. If you shop a lot online, you'll probably shop a lot in stores, too. Just ask Buzzy. We have a serious problem.

    Thanks TheBuzz.
Very interesting and important research. I also strongly believe that any problem is first caused by the person involved
and not by external factors. The human nature tend to blame external factors when a problem reviled!

I would add that in Internet Gambling there are casinos with perfect policies, where you put yourselves limits or you can even ban yourself so that you can NEVER get access back to their casino site.

You won't be able to do that in LIVE casino, would you?
