Hi everyone,
I've been building my first affiliate site solo for the past year and I think I'm at the point where I need outside eyes on it.
You know how it is — after staring at your own site for months you stop seeing the obvious problems.
The site:
https://thecasinogenie.com/
It covers 600+ casinos across 12 language editions. I built everything myself — the platform, the data pipeline, the content, the design.
Some things I'm genuinely unsure about and would love opinions on:
- Is the review structure useful or overwhelming? Each casino page has bonus details, a full payment methods table, game sections, registration steps, responsible gambling tools. Is that too much for a player looking for a quick answer, or is the depth what makes it valuable?
- Does the homepage work? I went with a category grid approach instead of a classic "top 10 list" homepage. Not sure if that's smart or confusing for first-time visitors.
- Multi-language: asset or liability at this stage? I launched 12 languages early because the data was there, but I wonder if I should have focused on 2-3 markets first. Curious if anyone here has experience scaling across many locales as a solo operator.
- The "Genie" branding — does it feel professional enough for iGaming, or does it come across as too playful/childish for the niche?
- What would make you leave the site? If you landed on a casino review page from Google, what would make you bounce?
Don't hold back — my ego can take it, my site probably can't.
Here are a few pages to check if you want to dig in:
The blog section is still a work in progress — turns out writing/updating 500+ casino reviews and running a blog at the same time is a bit optimistic when you're also the developer, the designer and the coffee maker.
