Default How do you submit to Bing UK & Yahoo UK?

Anyone know how to get your non UK hosted site indexed to the UK version for Bing and Yahoo specifically? I've already got mine indexed on Google UK and seems to be doing well and moving up to page one. But I've added updates to it and want to resubmit.

Are you sure your site has not already been picked up? Yahoo is normally pretty quick off the mark with adding sites to its index.

could you PM me the URL? if google's picked it's pretty likely Yahoo already has, bing on the other hand can be a little fickle. but I'd be happy to give you some pointers on Bing SEO. or you can just read my post, it's below yours in the SEO section

Does Yahoo UK still sell directory placement? If so, that is the quick way to go.

Thanks for the input. My sites are already indexed by the US version of these SEs and Google UK. But I want to know how to submit to the UK version of these SEs specifically - because my understanding is that their UK version is considered a separate search engine than their US counterpart.

If they're in the .coms they should be in the .co.uk, but your rankings will be very different.

    try here

    http://uk.yahoo.com/

geo location of your server is what is important for local search.
So if you want high rankings in google/yahoo UK you need a server in the UK.

Well I know that Google Webmaster Tool gives you the option to geo target when submitting URLs. Do Bing & Yahoo Webmaster Tools offer the same option?

You shouldn't have to submit. Build a link profile and it'll find and index you. You will be listed differently in the serps there than the .com site but you will be in the index.

I wouldn't worry about submission. Just work on content quality and links and the rest should take care of itself

If you're in the US versions of Yahoo or Bing, you're probably already in the UK versions too but may not be ranking as well. If you aren't, it won't be long until you are - don't worry about it.

I don't think they allow you to specifiy what geo-location you are targetting, they decide for themselves based on a number of factors including where the majority of your links come from, page content, domain suffix and hosting location.

That's not to say that a .co.uk hosted in the US won't rank high, it's a mixture of factors and they're not too bad at getting it right.

Well I am now ranked very well on Google UK for a "supposedly" competitive keyword (according to Adwords keyword tool).

    1) I have been there for 2 days and got zero click, which is very frustrating considering it's supposed to be highly trafficked.

    2) I am still not indexed for Bing UK or US, and Yahoo UK or US. This is bothersome.

Google Webmaster Tool gives you the option to geo target when submitting your site. I don't see the Bing or Yahoo webmaster tools offering that. Anyone know how to do it?
