Unhappy I could use some good thoughts

    Hi family,

Well its that time of year when everyone should be enjoying family and friends and once again my life is in the pits. I could really use some good thoughts and uplifting stories right now to keep myself sane.

My plight is as you know i have COPD, and its been acting up the past month or so, and haven't been myself, so i am working on living even healthier to get past this, then my beautiful baby, kitty "Little Feet" [whos pic i posted a while back] has been sick all month with urinary problems and may have to face surgery, a surgery i can't afford, now on top of all this, my sister in law passed away Sunday night from a massive and unexpected heart attack. My husband and his family are not coping well because on top of that my other sister in law is dieing from cancer, she has maybe one or two weeks left in here and then she will pass. This is just all too much at this time of the year...and good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    Pat

    Hi Pat,
I know how you feel my friend. My wife Patty is suffering very in such a bad way with her late stage COPD. We are hoping she will get on the lung transplant list at UVA in the near future. The holidays are very hard when there is a loss of a love one. One thing that help my wife Patty is finding friends she went to school with and worked with in the past at Facebook. She has also became addicted to some of the games there. If you do not have a Facebbok account I reccommend you set one up. I may have not cheered you up much, but you can be assured that your in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

It sounds like your really being challenged right now Pat. A good friend of mine once told me that God never gives you more than you can handle, so you must be one of his strongest.

On a lighter note I think this will put a smile on your face.

Meanwhile I'm here if I can help in anyway.

Pat, Pat, my darling life is never the pits! Life is only the pits if you perceive that way. Take the B.S and scream “I will ride this crooked highway and love it eventually it straighten out.”

What I think is happening here is life. However downright difficult it can be full of ditches and hills is what transcends beauty. Be at peace with yourself.

Okay the Cat “Little Feet”, I have had Cats all my life so far. I know male cats are more prone too severe urinary tract infections. Like you I faced the exact same situation. My cat’s name was Sam dam thing weighed 22 pounds. One day I called for him and he never came. I searched the house and after an hour found him curl up downstairs. Something was wrong his eyes told me this. I rushed him to the vet only to be told he needed surgery. The animal which I love so deeply would cost me $600.00. I stood there in shock knowing I did not have the money. A lousy $600.00 to save something you really love. Man life is not fair how dare you put a price tag on life. I had no choice but to euthanize Sam. Sam now rests on my desk in an earn along with his belongings. It is constant reminder that money blinds reality. And true love has no conditions. Just thought I would share this.

Pat wise up you have given more people rainbows than you even realize. And that is the point people never realize just how precious and important they really are. Many members have laughed hysterically over some of your comments. Plus you have shown so much compassion towards others. If your like this online I can only imagine what a wonderful person you are offline. Try slapping a price tag on you well there isn’t one. Face it Pat the reality is your one of better ones… and these dips in life contributed.

I know it is tough especially around this time of year but I can guarantee, this will only happen once.

    God Bless Pat and Family

You have touched my heart so much, i don't even know what to say.

Please take with you this holiday season that you just made a woman you've never met cry like a baby and it was a good thing, it was a cleansing thing which i needed very badly.

Someday i wish you to meet you and say thank you for this wonderful and touching post, it is something i will always cherish.

ps. I am so sorry for your loss of Sam, why would a vet kill a beautiful animal just because the surgery could not be afforded? I thought Vets did the job they do because they have a love for animals? I guess we were wrong about that, it is still all about the money.

God Bless you and yours, and thank you again.

Pat, most vets do do their jobs because of their feelings for animals.

I have a cat right now that is in a similar situation.

We had discovered a tumor in her about 2.5 months ago...

Based upon where it is located, very close to her aorta and major blood vessels, we could not do a standard biopsy but they were able to get a small piece with a needle, we sent it to a patholigist and found it was NOT cancer.... A HUGE relief.

Because of my hesitation with having surgerry done right away due to the cost, (it has been estimated at between 1500-2000) we decided the best course of action was keeping her on antibiotics.

Well after numerouse visits every 2 weeks for the last 8 or 10 weeks we discovered the tumor had shrunk to nothing.

She has been off the meds for 2 weeks and yesterday was the first follow-up visit after being off the meds only to discover that the tumor has started to grow again, so its back on the meds for now.

I will continue her on the meds and figure out how to handle the surgery some time after the first of the year.

I have had some very serious and lengthy discussions with the Dr about this, and we are both very happy that we did not schedule the surgery right away before since now that the "foreign matter" or whatever it is that is causing the infection, we were both shocked and pleased that it had kept shrinking at each visit.

She is certainly much better now and more healthy and stronger so that when we do scedule the surgery she has much better chances of survival.

Sometimes those that do not have pets will always understand how much they become to mean to people or become such a part of the family, but they do.

I only told this story so you could understyand that sometimes life will throw some choices at us that we not only didn't expect, but that as we go about finding solutions to our problems and issues we learn a great deal about ourselves and human nature in the process of making those difficult choices.

As I said before, any time you want to talk, just give me a shout...and we can chat about business if you want to take you mind off things at home or we can just about anything or nothing.....

I bet I can make you laugh.....
