Big changes over night for me. Seems there is something in the works. Just look at mozcast.com, says it all. I've also noticed that exact match domains ranking really well recently. Although they all seem to be really new domains and very spammy so might be that the blackhats are targeting a lot of gambling niches at the moment?

Update began rolling out on 21 August, just now beginning to filter into the UK results from what I can see.

I agree that the SERPS have become much more spammy.

I also see that there are some EMD's ranking higher than they should. But, it looks to me that it is moreso through link spamming than it is from an EMD boost.

This is the second update in a row where Google has "got it wrong" in my opinion. Coincidentally, this comes after "dumbing Panda down". Re-raise the bar on Panda and run Penguin.

The question I have about EMD names is, are they considered bad if they are used because it is relevant for the site? For instance i have my mlb and nba sites, I have build up my mlb site, it has tons of content. However the reason I chose the name is because it is super relevant to the site. Does anyone feel that Google penalizes EMD sites that are not just "spam" landing pages but offers a ton of value?

Hehe, thanks for sharing vidahost, if you would ask me 3 weeks ago I would reply I just go straight to Godaddy but they have many problems lately with their virtual dedicated servers, and the support didn't respond quick enough I experienced 3 days of downtime... I must move my site to different hosting company.

With regards to host per country, it is indeed make sense I agree... I'm starting to slowly internalize it...

Huge changes seen in the USA online casino searches here. It looks like some sort of update, but not PR. Likely a rolling algo change? I do see more EMD, less youtube, less mashable, more wikki.

Seems the dust is settling looking at mozcast.com. The changes didn't go down well for me and I'm being outranked by half a dozen sites with PA and DA of 1! You put it a load of hard work into good quality content and don't link spam and this is how you get rewarded.

SERPS seem all over the place lately. Checking on some keywords, Google seems to bring up a lot of homepage's with a menu name in the meta description as opposed to that actual page.

I'm with you on this mate, there seems to be a lot of spamming going on at the moment in betting niche, people buying up an EMD site and throwing a ton of black-hat links at it, getting top of Google in no time.

After all the things Google has told us about this sort of thing, I have to say I am massively disappointed with Google and their 'algorithms'. You play by the rules and you get stuffed over.

Right, and in addition to this, every single time you run any kind of seo tools on sites, you get even more garbage, off-topic links from seo sites....and this is after they steal bandwith to spider your sites ignoring robots text files.
