Server recommendations

Hi,

Can anybody recommend a company/companies providing dedicated servers in Germany or Russia please?

You might want to check with Hetzner....

I am not 100% sure, but I think they might have a facility in Germany as some ping and tracert testing a few of us did the other day gave that indication.

I do not use them personally but I have a few clients that have sites or servers with them in SA and they are great to work with, know their stuff, have blazing fast connections in secure facilities..

Since you are looking for dedicated servers, having a secure building with good security is a factor you should be looking at. Also look at power backup/generator used and it doesn't hurt to verify they are multi-homed (more than 1 backbone connection).

Yep. Hetzner have servers both in South Africa and in Germany. I used to have an account with them in Germany (shared though, not dedicated). The connection speed was great.

Good to have a personal recommendation for Germany.

I have dealt with their support staff on a small scale in SA and they helped with the situation swiftly and professionally.
