Should I use a CDN?

Hey guys! I would love to hear your opinions - my site is UK targeted only. Is it still recommended to use a CDN? as my server sitting in the UK, I think using a CDN is not necessary, correct me if I wrong?
I also read that using a CDN can actually hurt your SEO, by leading to duplication of material for your website(?)


Last but not least - localize aspect - as my site targeting and focusing only in the UK, using a CDN can show Google that my servers sitting at let's say the US, would that affect my rankings in the UK somehow?

You want to server your content fast to your users. If your target is mainly UK, you should have enough with a UK only server. The investment in a good CDN solution is not worth it.
A CDN, if you set it up correctly, will not hurt your SEO because of duplicate content. The content will be served on the same domain, it is not that every server of the CDN will have their own domain/page.

Normally the location of your servers should not affect your SEO targeting, you can have a server in the US for your UK visitors. But the speed will usually be lower for your visitors, that does influence your SEO.

When you say "server", are you saying you have a dedicated server? Because when I run a whois, it comes back that your on shared hosting.

FYI... Shared hosting can always benefit from a CDN.

Thanks for your replies, @AussieDave , i actually on cloud hosting, the company itself (Hostinger) has a few servers on different location, they're based in Lithuania, but my servers are located in the UK.
Question is, if a CDN is necessary if i targeting only one Geo (which is the UK), and if it does have a positive effect on my site in terms of SEO?

Everything depends on the proper set up.
And in this case it won't hurt your SEO.

Just switched the server location to Canada today, but the CDN (cloudflare) has really helped to improve the delivery speed

Would absolutely recommend Cloudflare regardless of your target market, both for speed, server load, and protection against attacks... Has been a big help for us.
