Site Feedback - What Channel Is The Game On?

Hi,

I'm trying to explore other avenues to increase affiliate sign-ups, so after having a weekend with some free time - I've setup a site that grabs all fixtures for the leagues I want and displays what channel they're on. I've spent some time getting getting odds for each game (this displays correctly only for the latest game, e.g. if you display liverpool latest game the odds will be correct, but looking further down the fixture list it will still show same odds - but they are unique for each team at least).

I've got some other features like download calendar files for each fixture so you can save it into your calendar. Club profile pages, teams etc...

The site is 95% automated - the only manual part is me assigning a channel to the game, I say me but really it's my 8 year old son

I've got the league data in my database now so I've just got to output that out, a few small fixes with images and twitter profiles. Also SEO friendly URL's and maybe try and make some of the content SEO friendly rather than js.

The idea is good although there are other sites that do the same thing, I use them myself very often!

The site is well set out but I can't imagine it working too well for revenue if I'm honest. I imagine most people looking for the game they want and leaving straight away. Hopefully you will get some good click throughs though - would be interested to see how it works.

Yup, I got the idea from one I use, I've tried to add upon what is already there (in terms of the other sites) with more features.

I'm hoping to add more features to keep users on the site for a longer duration, such as a tipster section for users to tip the result/correct score of the game and have a league table for that and give off some prizes. It's worth a shot I guess

Sweet, this is my new go to site for finding out what channel the game is on!

I think a good fit for this website content wise would be betting in play. You could post updates during some high profile games and maybe do a live odds feed. Just a thought for down the road maybe.

I live in Ireland and there are channels here that air the 3pm kick offs on a Saturday. And I think from this season onwards skysports will be airing 3pm kick offs outside of the U.K. Maybe you could add some detail on that.

Thanks for the constructive feedback. Actually I've just got accepted for bet fair API, so I am going to see what I can come up with.

haha you'd be surprised how far £5 goes when getting work done from an 8yr old

Brilliant part with the junior giving help. I agree that live prices or even cashout messages could increase conversion. Something simple like "bet €100 now on Chelsea (currently losing) and win €280). Good luck with the project, it looks promising to be honest.

Cheers mate, I'm trying to work with live scores but I'm learning nodejs to try and provide a live score. I've actually got someone helping me out with some betfair api too - so hopefully I could go the step further and add something similar to what you suggested

Nice site - when it's done properly, pulling together the api stuff can look really good.

Out of the scope of this site and no personal experience but have you looked at affiliating with BT and Sky? It would seem to be an obvious link - the betting side probably makes you more unique but it might be worth trying.

Thanks! Yup I've signed up to be an affiliate - I've got a lot more to do to make the site better and I'm also making the app for live score push notifications, adding more leagues and content

also so going to list offers for individual games too
