    Agree with you. It has an effect. That's why domain registrars start to offer exclusive DNS services (Such as Namecheap) for speed and security.

    Speed could be affected by the dns provider, or the web host, and (most likely) not affected much by the root servers.

    I agree with all's statement given at this forum. A website speed really matters in sites performance. If website speed is not good then the visitor will leave your site immediately. Use the possible technique to reduce a website speed.

    Yes, absolutely. Site speed is really important. It's the most important factor that there is.

    No it is not the most important factor, but I agree it is very important. What you should know is that fast leaving the site is not bad factor - it depends on the site "type". Google have statistical data and know what timings are optimal for lottery results site and for shopping site. User leaving shortly after coming is normal fo first site, but not common for second site.
