Site Speed Suggestions

[TravG]

Anyone have any recommendations on speeding up load time on your site? Im using wordpress for my one site www.usalegalcasinos.com and it seems really slow. I installed WP SuperCache but it still seems slow to me. What do you think?

I use php scripts for my "short reviews" on pages and wondering if maybe I should just use standard HTML? At least maybe on the most important pages. I imagine using php files would slow it down a little?

Any suggestions I would appreciate. I hate to change themes as I have done some customization.

Use less PHP scripts and try to use latest WP software.

Travis,

Your images are too heavy.

The header is 196k when it could be reduced by at least 100k or more.

The flag is 300x225 pixels but wp is reducing this size and possibly slowing down page load as well.

I also agree that using html instead of scripts that pull data from external sources could also show a speed increase.

use http://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ for all your images to make them super light without losing quality i.e. lossless compression
