Default Site is stealing my content

I found a site that is scraping the titles of my press releases. It is a .us emd that is ranking well. How do I go about reporting this to google? The who is search is coming up with nothing. They are an affiliate of a top European affiliate sports betting program on here and I have been able to find their affiliate ID. Would contacting the company do any good?

Read this recent thread on this point (has some good advice, but I wouldn't waste time with the contacting affiliate departments thing, leave that until later if required, but you should never need to do that):

No. 1 go straight to their hosting company and DMCA report this to them. Send them the following email (ring them first to get the correct abuse email, usually abuse@..). Then chase up by phone. This email works and will have the site suspended within 48hrs (if they dont remove the duplicated content):

You are hosting the following website:
    http://www.??????????????.net

It has numerous pages that contain stolen content from our website (???????.com) ie:
http://www.?????????.com/ (copied our page here: ??????.com)

This is a DMCA Notice and you need to comply with it and remove the stolen content that you are hosting. Please could you suspend the offending website (http://??????????.net) immediately.

It's just the titles of your press releases?
Do they link back to content at all?

There are too many sites ranking very well for posting titles, copying excerpts and linking to the original site. Pure automation but Google isn't doing much about it yet.

It is just the titles guys, I am going to pm you guys on the thread I don't want to make anything public right now. I just dont want hours of writing and spending money on writing plus the cost of press releases going down the drain.

Thanks for the pm. All the content is stolen and it looks to me they have stolen a lot of actual content from sportsbookreview.com. If it is just the titles I would doubt this is affecting you too badly. If any of the very many posts are yours then you need to contact the hosting company, as advised. What about the 2nd post down on the home page? The first paragraph has two references to your website. Are you sure that paragraph has not been lifted? If it has then DMCA request the host company, who may be ONO.es or ONO Hosting (they have a wiki entry and possibly a twitter account from what I could see on a quick look up). Annoying it is not a better known company, like godaddy or the like. I guess this guy may have been chucked off bigger name companies already.

There is some info on the whois for the site like registrant phone number and the "info@" email address belongs to the site. However I doubt the idiot behind the site will play ball with you, though I have had a result before by constantly phoning a number on the whois that turned out to be the webmaster's home number in china and harassing him at 4am his time. I would try those phone numbers. It depends how much this issue is bugging you. You might like to check who the content in the posts belongs to and contact those webmasters (as I say, at first glance, it looks like they have scraped SBR heavily to me). You will then maybe get them on the case of this site too. If I was SBR I would be very unhappy indeed with this site. Maybe let everyone know on this thread what the site is without giving them a backlink or direct mention.
