Sup all.
I'm thinking about moving operations to Malta. Are there currently any affiliates out there running an office?
It would be super to hear some perspective or stories.
Thanks!

I have a few friends out there as affiliate managers, one in particular is a good friend and he loves it out there. Frequently saying on facebook it's the best move he ever made
There are several affiliates in Malta including many big name affiliates. I lived there for about six months in 2010 before moving to Panama. The summer months in Malta are awesome but the winter months can drag on and the temperature dips a fair bit. I still have several friends there who have now made Malta their home and enjoy it. It is a great place to raise a family.

Ive hard lots of good things about Malta, if you move there im sure you'll enjoy it.
Thanks guys. Looking forward to going over there to have a look around.
Been there a few times and on one of our top 5 places to retire at. Black flies don't impress me much and it is a bit far from Family and Friends for us but if we had a nice boat am sure I can survive .
Malta is a good place, if you go there you will enjoy. I heard various good things about it.
Will be looking for a developer and graphics designer in Malta in the new year. Obviously I will consult the recruiters but if anyone wants a direct line contact me.
I've never been but know a few that tried it and loved it. I also know a few that didn't fall in love with the place and moved back to the UK.
I'd suggest a few months out there as a trial before moving permanently, unless, of course, you're already familiar with the area and it's pros and cons.
Moving down south is on my wishlist for quite some time now and after visiting Malta this summer, I fell in love with it. So please keep us posted on your experiences!

100% agree with Doolally.
I know several affiliates that live there and seem to be very happy, but I would recommend you to visit the place and see for yourself if Malta is a place that would suit your lifestyle.
I wish you all the best!
I've lived here for 38 years...wouldnt change it for anything. Sure its got some little disadvantages, but these are nothing compared to sun nearly 75% of the time, relatively warm winters (it's still 20 degrees at the moment) and extremely cheap booze....what else would one want? Having said that, I would recommend a trial period of a few months before making a final decision....
Thanks for all the info guys. Have spend some time in Malta in the last year and have committed to moving in March.
We'll initially be hiring full time staff for:
- Front End Developing
- Graphic UX Designer
- Website(s) Manager x 2
- Copywriter (Fluent English)
If anyone has any interest or friends that want a full time job in Malta (remote work might be an option) then feel free to send me a PM.

Good luck in the move to Malta, I've been a couple of times on holiday and it's a lovely place, the friendliness of the people strikes me every time.
With every crap English winter (and most of the year) I endure I'm ever more tempted to move to warmer climes, not sure if Malta is quite for me though in terms of my situation at the moment as it's definitely a little 'sleepy' but definitely something I'd think about if I was 10-15 years older.
I'm quite tempted by South Spain but also it would be good to move somewhere where the tax situation is notably better, so doing my research a bit on things.

Best Place!
Iīve licensed and owned companies in Malta, been their often but donīt like the place or that everyone seems to know your business the local bars become the job centers for gaming operators, not really my scene, in winter boring, only thing i like about the place is the Hilton!
Iīve lived in Marbella (Elviria) for 6 years now, differant class of lifestyle, great climate and easy to live, wouldnīt contemplate many other places in Europe although i do like hitting the big cities now and them!
This is a great place if you are into a bit of sport, i get to go ski-ing when i want (two hours 20 mins Sierra Nevada -Granada),Paris is a 2H15 flight,i can see Africa from my window, play tennis accross the road, take the boat out whenever i choose and if your into golf,60+ courses (not for me until i reach 100 anyway),itīs a safe place, some very good international schools for the kids and people are friendly!
Malta is only good for the tax breaks, especially the non vat associated with affiliates but we can always structure around that canīt we!
