Sky Poker - Lowest Rake Deductions Amongst Largest Brands

Hi all,

We wanted to let affiliates know of a special offer from Sky Poker this weekend.

Starting this Friday (23rd) at 6am, Sky Poker will be reducing its rake to 2.5% for all heads up poker £1/£2+. This offer ends on Monday 26th March at 6am.

This means we will have the lowest rake deductions of all the major brands:


Pokerstars: 4.5%, cap = £0.50
Party Poker: 5%, cap = $1.00
William Hill: 5%, cap = $1.00
888: 5%, cap = $1.00
PKR: 5%, cap = $0.5 - $1.00
Sky Poker: 2.5%, cap = £0.25


This should be a good message for your players and is definitely worth giving a push on site.

Hi Deanna - i do have a question regarding Sky, although it's not in regard to this promotion or their poker brand.

Recently there was an issue with their casino confiscating winnings from players due to a supposed malfunction and despite the statement from the AM Dean that

"I can most certainly appreciate your desire for information on what exactly happened but until the details are made clear, I think it's important we all try to deal in facts and not speculation into "hacks" or "inside jobs"."

he's not made clear at all what's been going on, despite several attempts to contact him.

Could you look into this and perhaps push the relevant parties to actually engage with this issue as it's now damaging their brand with affiliates.

Hi The POGG - as Dean has stated previously, he is not privy to any more information than he’s been able to disclose, as the issue is being dealt with exclusively by Sky’s legal team. When there is an update, I'm sure Dean will be eager to provide it

Thanks for the responce Deanne - as i commented to Dean first time round when he was unresponsive, even posting a comment to say "i've not got anything new yet, but we're working on it" is vastly preferable to pretending the issue doesn't exist as he's done since, as it lets the affiliate/player communities know that they're not just hoping all of this will go away. Honestly i doubt we'll ever hear anything more from Dean - or anyone else at Sky - regarding this issue, which is a real shame as they're about to take a drop in ranking over this issue.
