Skype issues

Anyone here having problems logging in to Skype? I haven't been able to for a couple of days now. Any help to fix this bugger is truly appreciated.

I still use version 3.6 on my Win 7 machine, no problems at all, and version 3.8 on the Xp ones, no problems there either. I'd give em a try, as they represent the last of what Skype used to be. I'd never change to the new interface a.k.a version 4+. 3.8 hangs on win7 machines, that's y I use 3.6

If you are a fan however of the new versions, good luck on a solution

I'm not a fan of the new versions or however you want to call it. I just want it to work. Simple as that. I have no idea which version i've got. For some reasons, I just click Yes whenever there's a pop up to upgrade. I just had to - It's the only way they'll stop ballooning at me no matter how many times i clicked Cancel. It never used to give me problems up till now.

I'd turn off Update notifications in the Advanced option section, cause Skype tends to try to update ur version quite often. If you can't login from the first time, try it a few times. Whenever I install an older version I get that from time to time, that the first login is unsuccessful. Hope it works.

I couldn't find the versions you suggested though. What i did was i removed the program and re-installed it. It didn't work the first time. Nor the second time. I was just about to give up as it's taking way too much of my time but then i thought hmm maybe the third time it might work. And yep, it BLOODY WORKED on the third attempt. Unbelievable..

It'll be a relief to my sister who lives on the other side of the planet. Two days of not being online, i got FIVE worried emails from her :S lol

Yeah Skype can be a problem sometimes! What happens to me all the time is that i'll send a message to somebody throught skype and they'll receive it 20 mins later, its very frustrating! Im glad you could get connected!!

Gabriel, you should definitely try reinstalling it.

Same thing happened to me. So i downloaded an old copy from www.oldversion.com and then upgraded it and now it works fine.

I had the same issues with skype yesterday, I went to http://heartbeat.skype.com/ and followed their instructions on deleted the shared.xml file and all was good!
