Default So long and farewell lottery affiliates

It seems Google is wanting to bypass lottery affiliates and display the results in the SERPs, the lottery providers won't mind but the affiliates will suffer the most: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-...ers-20594.html

I am pretty sure this will be rolled out eventually to all other lottery games.

But the top result, displaying the numbers, is coming from pronosticos.gob.mx and not from Google itself. This looks more like a variation of a rich snippet.

To be honest this was always fairly inevitable. It already does this kind of thing for thousands of other queries, so with something relatively simple (lottery numbers) which it could probably get from the lottery site itself it was only a matter of time...

Yep, they've started to introduce certain other snippets of info as the top answer to try and give users a more imemdiate answer. I noticed before when i was searching a 'how to' on my Samsung S6 and it tried to give me a snippet out of an article, it wasn't particularly the answer to my query but it tried. An 'interesting' move, trying to cut everyone out and let Google themselves be the answer for simple queries. Could be interesting times for affiliates in general with this more commericialised Google competing against the sites it shows.

But then whoever said that a lottery affiliate should be the best place for lottery results? I'd want the official lottery site.

With Google now pretty much any common question will appear sooner or later.. Weather traffic jams, sports already take top spots.. I have even seen terrible previews there
