When you only want to drive it 10 yards!
My Nice shiny Saab is a great car and i love it to bits, however, it was naughty today!
Where i live i cannot park outside during office hours for more than 2 hours as i am in the town centre. Some days are ok as the traffic warden is an ok guy and he may just ask me to move the car down and not book me. Its like cat and mouse here, i sit looking out of the window for the warden and move the car 1 hour and 55 minutes later to save getting a ticket. if it is the nice warden i just move the car a little and all is fine.
Yesterday it was the nice warden so i went down mid afternoon and started it up, drove it 10 yrds and got the thumbs up from him! I never went anywhere yesterday, so thats where it stayed all night too!
This morning it was the nasty warden, so i waited my 1 hour 55 minutes and went to move it. Ah, it would not start!
So 2 hours later and various rows with the stupid warden regarding how do i move it when it dont work, the Saab mechanic arrives!
he jumps in trys to start it and it wont start, he then asks me:
"did you drive it a few yards last time you used it?"
How did he know i wondered? So i owned up to driving it just 10 yards feeling like a naughty schoolboy.
Right he said, taking the fuse out for the fuel pump, you have flooded it! If you have to move it 10 yards again in future make sure you drive it round the block before you stop it or you will have the same problem!
So basically, and this is from Saab themselves, a Saab is no good to drive 10 yards, however , its great to drive 4000 miles to Italy from the UK.
Something dont seem right here!![]()
