Which software technology do you use and why?

The Question is in the title.

We are considering changing our software technology to something more modern, since programming asp.net is over complicated. And, we are too reliant on third parties.

Another question we would like to ask, is anyone using Amazon hosting ? And, if yes what's your opinion.

Do you mean the programming language or CMS of the website?

Most people use Wordpress as CMS, it uses mainly php and a mysql database. I myself prefer Drupal, it is more difficult but also more detailed and you can customize it more.

If you are talking about the software I use to program, I use PHPstorm (JetBrains).

For the hosting question you should search around on the forum, there are multiple topics about this. Not sure if there is any specific about Amazon. Otherwise maybe a nice one to start?
