Sources for players/traffic other than Google

I've heard a few webmasters say after the Panda update and their drop in traffic, they're starting to focus on sources other than Google. My question is, what other sources of players, advertising or traffic do you use, if any, that have been successful? It would be great not to solely rely on Google, but what else can one do?

Good question faulkwood, although my affiliate sites still rely on search engines I have dabbled with a little bit of success in the following areas:

• Social media, maybe not for acquisition, but certainly for retention.
• Video sharing sites, Youtube etc.
• Guest writing on other sites in the industry
• Buying ad space on other sites, I've seen huge affiliates like latestcasinobonuses.com are bang on this

My focus with affiliate sites is to appear everywhere possible on the web, over time natural traffic from all of these sources builds up to a healthy amount. That way even if your major traffic source such as Google falls foul for a few months you potentially have something to live on...
