    I just want to share some important demographic data.

    Population:

    47,042,984 (July 2011 est.)

    Age structure:

    0-14 years: 15.1% (male 3,646,614/female 3,435,311)
    15-64 years: 67.7% (male 16,036,556/female 15,637,090)
    65 years and over: 17.1% (male 3,389,681/female 4,609,532) (2011 est.)

    Languages:

    Castilian Spanish (official) 74%
    Catalan 17%
    Galician 7%
    Basque 2%

    Online Demographics:

    •65.6% of the population were internet users in December 2011 (Internet World Stats).
    •The majority of internet users were aged between 25-34 during April/May 2012 (AIMC Data)
    •Aged 14-19: 10.3% of users
    •Aged 20-24: 9.9% users
    •Aged 25-34: 25.1% of users
    •Aged 35-44: 24.4% of users
    •Aged 45-54: 15.4% of users
    •Aged over 55-64: 8.4% of users
    •Aged over 65: 6.5% of users

    •Internet penetration keeps increasing in different Spanish autonomous regions (AIMC data)
    •Andalucia: 56.2%
    •Aragon: 61.3%
    •Asturias: 50.7%
    •Baleares: 62.1%
    •Canarias: 60.3%
    •Cantabrica: 46.8%
    •Castilla/Leon: 52.8%
    •Castilla/Mancha: 53.7%

    •54.4% of the online population in Spain in April/May 2012 was male (AIMC data)
    •91.1% internet users in April/May 2012 had home internet access (AIMC data)
    •31.8% of the population between 16 and 74 years old) made purchases online some time in their life (Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, October 2011)
    •61.9% of households in Spain (almost 9.6 million dwellings) had a broadband internet connection (Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, October 2011)
    •44.5% of mobile subscribers in Spain used a smartphone (Comscore, August 2011)

    We hired a Spanish Employee this year and definitely was one of best things we have done.
