    Default Starting a casino website

Gaming is going up... and its time to focus on that I guess. Correct me if I am wrong: I would like to start my own gambling site (casino). I cant write the gaming software itself, I can only buy it. I would rather buy it than lease it - you know, I don't want to be someone affiliate.

I can do PHP backend, I am expert in that.

    (1) How would you bring traffic to casino site? paid popups? ads in search engines?

    (2) Is there anyone experienced to talk to? Maybe we can share the ideas or start this business together.

    Let me know... thanks.

Setting up your own online casino is a *very* big undertaking and you would need to license someone's software to do it. Unfortunately the common software is also very expensive to license. Unless you happen to have between $500,000 and $1,000,000 on hand you are unlikely to be able to start your own online casino.

The 'Field of dreams' rule does not apply in this business either. If you build they will not come... That's where affiliates come in.

We are all reasonably experienced in the world of casino marketing, so I suggest that you hang around here and lap up the good info that flows freely. You don't want to jump right in without being fully aware of what this business is about.

    Good luck!

Anyone even considering owning a casino, whether online or off, needs to be very well funded before opening. They also need to be sure they're in compliance with the laws in their locality regarding ownership. It's certainly not something to consider doing without a lot of forethought, research and funding.

And as Chalk said up there, you need to license from someone that's well known already, otherwise you can probably quadruple the amount of everything involved in running it.

Licence wouldn't be a problem if the cost would be around $5000. I didn't know prices are that high. You gave a good idea to stay here, follow the forum and learn, you are right about that.

I guess my next step should be: listening and learning then start an online casino like someone else affiliate. Once (IF) the thing gets moving, switch to your own version. But maybe even affliated version will bring some nice amount of money...

There is still the most important think opened - the traffic. You (experienced users): have you ever done a research where and how to advertise? I believe that advertising online gaming would probably require different approach than online personals? Would you advertise in newspapers as well? Is there any info on this?

    Thanks guys

my advice take what it worth (should be forth 5 diddy) go to income access.com promote lassester casino. build a few link lists sites, casino guide sites, a tip and tricks site and sell the casino like hell without overdoing it... always remember content so you can keep loyal surfers... get some trades going, get listed in dmoz etc. all take time so you should be patient... build up an oldskool newsletter and keep em bizzy with weekly articles, bonus offers etc. take the time to get listed on all gambling engines, linklists etc around all will make the spiders catch your sites.... hit me up in PM and i'll help you out with meta tags etc.

if you can't make a nice profit this way you know that a casino is out of your reach!

Those casinos look dodgy at the best. Do you really think people in 2006 are going to wager at a casino that offers games that resemble < 1997 standards? Personally I think not!

Yep very dodgy. Off the shelf casinos are not good for the industry, the player or the person buying into them.
