Starting a Sub-Domain For A Different Language

I just got off skype with one of my affiliate managers and found out that the majority of players speak a certain language. I have seen people make sub-domains with the abbreviation for instance eng.every1bets.com

I am curious if that is the best thing to do or use b78ny.com which I have been holding on to until I had a use for it because it ranks well. Any Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You

There are many discussions in webmaster forums. You can use subdomain as well as a separate folder like every1bets.com/eng/

I tried both on different websites and can´t see any difference. The only important aspect: Google counts a subdomain as new domain. So you start at zero with your subdomain...

thank you, does anyone think I would be best of for SEO reasons to use B78NY.com which I have left open for when I have an idea? Or would it be best to keep it under the every1bets domain? Any suggestions would help, Thank You!

Bad advice again.

When you create a subdomain yes, it is seen as a new domain by Google.

The trick here is to link to the subdomain from your homepage. This will pass about 90% of the trust, authority and rankings. Google will pass 100% of the link value.

Look around my blog ppc-manager.blogspot.com. Search for "subdomains". I took screenshots showing 5 subdomains created a few days before the post. They were all showing the same Page Rank and links.

This is the advice you would also give to someone that has been penalised and needs a quick fix.

Definitely use the subdomain for this reason. Set you WMC Geotargeting to the target country. Add GPS meta tags, and obviously change your title and descriptions to the target language.

If you are ambitious and can justify spending the 10 euros per month, create a new A-Address and host the site in the target country.

When this works please come back and give confirmation. With all of the issues arising from Penguin 2.1 this will need to be referenced I think.

thank you gary, I appreciate the advice.

I am still deciding on whether or not I want to do this. It is going to be a lot of work, and I have a lot of sites that take up a lot of time.

Another thing is I have my site b78ny.com that I have been waiting for an idea like this. I have been thinking about using that site. The main thing is making sure I want to take on this project and add it to what I have on the table currently.
