Svenska Spel, Sweden's state-owned gambling monopoly, has had to at the very least delay plans to expand into the Internet poker world, because the Swedish government is making it do an internal investigation into its exsiting license.

Until the results are in from that investigation, the government will not allow the company to expand its net-poker services.

The government emphasized that Svenska Spel must consider the social effects of gambling, before profits.
