Default switching off personalised results in google

    Hi -

Is this possible? i.e. can I remove personalisation from my own search results to look at rankings?

    Thanks,

Yeah, that still leaks info and does not return true search results. It gives more accurate results than being directly in one's own filter bubble, but is biased nonetheless.

A pretty easy way to confirm/deny is to load up your GSC rankings and then try looking at rankings in incognito window. Incog window will be higher ranked than GSC. Then you can look in your own filter bubble and your own site/sites you have visited will be even higher still.

Best way I've found is to have a dedicated computer/partition w/separate OS install and do searches there via a privacy browser. Also, never click the searches, just observe them. And lastly to use a VPN rather than your IP address which can also taint the results IMO.

Hi Mark, I also simply use an incognito web browser (Tor web browser) and that gets the job done for me. The Tor web browser in itself, hides your IP address automatically for you.

Their web page is - https://www.torproject.org/download/...d-easy.html.en

Or a 10$ a month service like ranktrackr or whatever else out there. You can also use a VPN, that's also like 10$ a month. Thing is you can only see the rankings for a specific country since nowdays Google uses different data centers even more than before.

On a keyword A, Canadian and New Zealand users can see your site (or not at all) in different rankings. You have to be quite specific these days to what keywords you'd like to target and to what audience.

That being said, it's all an EGO boost. Don't get me wrong I track keywords too. But does it matter at the end of the day if I've got 0 conversion and revenue? Nope. That's all it matters. If I'm converting and getting revenue, then I'm most likely ranked high.

But if I seem to rank high on a specific keyword in a country and there's nothing, then: A) Must be super low volume one, B) My promoted service may not even accept players from the country. C) Tons of ads, rich snippets etc etc getting most clicks.
