I think you misunderstood the point of my comment somewhat. I was trying to say - go for it - All inbound "social signals" are positive - but don't expect a huge effect of suddenly getting loads of +1's. Guys are selling 1000 +1's online for as little as £5 from real accounts with "real user behaviour history". You can bet that the guys who are buying them aren't suddenly "raping the SERPs" due to +1's alone!
