    Default Terms and Conditions

    Dear Fellow Members,

I was wondering if anyone had some experience in posting official terms and conditions of bonuses or general requirements of a casino and serving them o n your own site. I have done that and now I am worried that I will be penalized by Google for duplicate content.

Has anyone done it and been burned by Google?

PS. Funny sometimes this code works fine and other times it does not. I am sure it is me that is doing something amiss.

Duplicate content wouldn't be my main worry, it would be the casino changing the terms and conditions and them consequently being out of date on your site. Out of date terms and conditions could mislead customers and lead to some major unhappy visitors and could even potentially jeopardize your relationship with the casino and affiliate program.

In regards to the original question, if you post the entire terms and conditions page content then you'd risk being flagged as duplicate content, but if your positing just a small section and have other unique text around it you'll be fine. Maybe have them on an individual page on your site with a no index meta tag? Or include them with an iFrame so they update automatically?

The possibilities to avoid this are endless, as long as you don't go over the top by posting everything you should be fine

    Thanks Dave Merry,

Your answer read true. I-frame for updating...OK. That will take me into uncharted territory as far as a skill-set goes. The no index is a good suggestion. There are a lot of interesting reading on Terms and conditions. I feel readers should be into them more. Amazing what you find. O r should I say alarming.

    Not a problem.

iframes are really simple, read a bit more about them here: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp.

Let me know if you need anything else

I always include the terms of a bonus, but I do it within my article or review. It is unique and part of my 500+ word article.

While terms do change, I only list sites that I actually use and can personally recommend, so it isn't much of an issue. Also, I have some special deals. These terms don't change as much and I will learn about it when they do.

    That's good Frank,

With so many portals doing the same thing and with my character bent the way it is, I wana do something focused. I don't know what corner I am painting myself into actual, but i wana be an Authority site. This means terms and conditions and many other things that perhaps a promotionalist will not want to bring up. I am practicing at it now and it aint easy. I find myself mentioning things that will turn a light headed player off. Instead of dreaming up stretches of teh imagination on the casinos Biggest and Best", I find myself complaining in my script. Dats a no no also. So I am a bit lost as to who I will be attracting and how to do it. I need practice at avoiding complaining, an dlet the reader know all casinos have their good and bad sides. I see (dave??) at livedealer.org dong an Authoritative site. I respect that. And over time it will pay off. (maybe) Content I like to do. Spinning articles and running SEOnuke gives me a headache. I know I have to get links... somehow. I will give it a few more months before I spin-out.
But don't listen to me. I am in the dark most of the time with my foot in my mouth. I can't help it. That is who I am.

Frank... would you know why the link above is not working. Sometimes it shows properly and sometimes it doesn't change into a link? Is it the code?
    Thanks for your 2 cents

Now I remember what I wanted to add......
    Things Change:
5 years ago it was a banner farm that made the money in casino portals. Today it is the proper promotional site. Hopefully tomorrow the readers will be even more sophisticated and they will be looking for something a bit more real.

The code looks fine Live. Not sure why it is the way it is. Is it that sometimes you use the Quick Reply and other times you use the Advance option?

You are right about everyone doing the same thing. That is why I went a completely different route. While it is a little tougher to gain footing, I am enjoying it. Instead of the typical review site and such, I have a blog that where I provide sports betting tips.

The traffic isn't anywhere I would like it, but my list is starting to grow.

I really enjoy writing, so it is not big deal for me to whip up an article. I also just started a podcast and have it listed on iTunes. While I have had a YouTube Channel for over a year, I am really starting to post there more with some unique, informational videos.

I honestly don't know of another blog like mine out there. I wish I did, because I would love to do a guest post and possibly do some cross marketing.

My advise would be to sit down and make out a clear plan on what you want to do.

    best of luck!

Too ahead and they will never catch up.. That is not referring to your idea or site. It just popped into my head... probably because of all the empty space there.

You are doing great... Pod casts, A magazine and best of all... an instructional site vs promotional. Hats off to you big guy. Good luck.

So here goes a link in "Go Advanced" lets see if it'll work.

Most players do not read terms and they change too often to have to update on the website. If you are copying paragraphs of these terms it is not recommended. If you want to list terms just list games allowed and wagering rules as basic information.

    grem,
Very practical suggestion. I can do that. In addition what is the SEO ramifications of placing an iframe of the terms on a separate page? I mean is it a problem with Google in some way? I am just brain storming here.

    Hey Live,

Any particular reason you are adding it beneath your post and not in your actual signature?

Hover over 'MY ACCOUNT' in the menu.
Go down and click on the 'EDIT MY SIGNATURE'

Whatever you enter in there will automatically appear below every post you make. Type the text you want to link, highlight it, and then click on the globe with little links in front in the fonts menu, it will ask you where you want that text to link to, simple .

    See if that works?
